Since then the hole in the middle has been welded up with the vin in there, just in case.

Since my CV Boots where shot and the clacking when turning was getting louder......

This thing is coming along quickly! Looking better with every post.

If there wasn't such a thing as rain, I think I would thoroughly enjoy a low, white cabriolet with a clipper kit. Yeah Dude!

Too ugly for the backyard, too classic for the scrapyard.
I'm so Euro, my car has presta valves.

its not really backwards, its just that you're looking at it from the inside.

Here are some more pics, sadly nothing to report except for the vin plate being welded on.

last nite i traded a MK2 badgeless grille for this MK1 Neuspeed strut bar :)

Intake mani is gonna get chowdercoated along with the 2 valve covers that are under the seat Very Happy

The original idea was to have it checkered with this "new" process at the local powdercoating place, but apparently it doesnt stand too high temperatures :(

I still havent decided if i want red or purple on this car, so i got a couple of extra intake manis, the first one will be this red:

if i end up wanting purple, the red will go to the 16vt.

when i was there doin the white valve cover, i saw these in person, my jaw dropped.

Since my friend was a no-show for about 2 weeks, the deftrap got sent to a body shop on tuesday morning, friend of Eli's, the wiring guy.

Yesterday i go to Eli's to deliver some parts to him and he says, "hey, we should go to the shop so you meet the guy that has your car" i agree and we head on our way

When we get there i see like 6 guys standing around my car looking at the guy thats inside the engine bay sanding, he looks up at us and it turns out i know the guy, he buys a lot of stuff from us at work. he used to bring us lunch, we gave him a good discount  Laughing

All the holes in the bay were plugged up with either brass or bronze, they use the same word for both metals  Anxious

Bay's getting painted Toyota's Blizzard Pearl

Bay should be finished up by saturday and it'll be sent back to Eli's shop to slap the engine back in and do the wiring.

Surprised

That sucks. Wonder why the painter didn't notice the pink tinge before he shot it?

apparently it wasnt noticeable until it started to dry. thinking it was a residue issue with his gun, he cleaned it thoroughly and re-did it, only to have the pinkage show up with a vengance.

he said that where i bought the paint they pre-mixed the pearl effect with the clear coat, as opposed to having the painter mix everything himself, that could be the issue.

That's what i get for rushing into things.

The painter already got the paint at a better place, tri coat, how it should be.

On a different note, Nollie stole the BBS RMs from my 16vt for her birthday.

And Tyler, are you absolutely positive you were hitting your frame rail?  Like did you get in there and look?  Cuz you have to be pretty damn low to do that.

Thank you both.

about the lows, i have U shaped driveshafts. wait, what?

about the 15x10s, they're 4x108, and if i could i would, but it would mess up the bearings in no time, and i mean no time. the zomgwtfoxus only had them on for 3 days and it messed them up good.

for those that don't know what the zomgwtfoxus was:

Tec: Shoot me your phone number and I'll text you a picture of the flattened pinch weld and shiny ring on the driveshaft.

I didn't think I was that low. Maybe it's an early Cabby issue. 81 vs. whatever the Death Trap is- 90?
